Introduction

to PILES OF MONEY: The Practical Attraction Guide to Building Wealth

by Drew Rozell, Ph.D.

Congratulations on your decision to purchase Piles of Money. My guess is that this is not the first book of the financial genre that you’ve bought. I have many on my shelves as well. Some were helpful, some were not. Some I have yet to open.

I write this book to share what I know about attracting wealth. Because I sense this is not the first book you have read about money, I will begin by telling you what this book is not.

I am not an expert in the field of money or finances. I am not selling you a get-rich-quick program. I do not promise that this book will solve all your money problems. This book will not tell you how to bring money into your experience (e.g., Get Rich with Real Estate and No Money Down!). The truth is that most people are able to generate income; they just are not able to keep that money growing and hanging around.

I will not even go so far as to make any guarantee that what I offer here will work for you. However, I strongly believe that if you take the information to heart and experiment with the concepts presented here, you will begin to attract more money into your life.

Nothing I say in this book will be revolutionary. But while none of the concepts are by themselves new, I’m not aware of anyone else out there promoting the marriage of some tried and true principles of money and online banking in the form that I will present to you here.

This book is about creating an easy system for you to manage and save more money. The ideas in this book are remarkably simple. No one said anything about this had to be complicated, though all too often that is what we believe to be true. That’s the great news, really! However, to build wealth, you must focus your attention. Creation follows consciousness and you need to become conscious about your money. Robert Kiyosaki makes this point in his excellent book, Rich Dad Poor Dad when he writes, “if the person cannot master the power of self-discipline, it’s best not to try to get rich.” (p. 181).

Don’t worry; the approach I offer here does not require that you be obsessed with your money, only that you have a healthy interest in it. You do not have to be a horticulturalist to grow a nice plant in your home. However, you do have to water and care for it regularly or it will perish. The same is true for your money.

Allow me to share my personal beliefs about money so you know where I am coming from.

I enjoy money very much. Money allows me to live where I want to, to eat the quality of food I want to eat, to have nice things, and money provides me a great deal of freedom in my life. While money is quite important to me, it does not keep me warm at night. In other words, I have many other interests. I am not the type to devote an inordinate amount of my time or energy to a complicated system to manage my money. If something takes too much time or energy, I won’t follow through with it.  So do not be surprised when you find out how simple all of what I am about to share with you really is. All I request is that if the idea of attracting wealth appeals to you, that you experiment with this system.

So far, you have qualified yourself as 1), someone who is interested in attracting wealth and 2), a person who is comfortable using the Internet. That’s exactly where I started from when I began to integrate all I’d learned about money and created this system that I am excited to share with you here.

Now that you have taken the plunge and have these words in front of you, I urge you to finish reading  and follow through on my suggestions. The book is not long and the information should be easy to digest. Yes, creating a system for money to flow to you will require some action on your part, but that work is nothing you cannot handle in a few hours. If you are not willing to take action to experience more freedom in your life, I doubt there’s much I (or anyone else) can do or say to convince you.

The goal of this book is very simple and specific – to offer you some of the principles and techniques that have been responsible for me getting my financial house in order (and thriving).  This book will provide the blueprints that will guide you through creating the foundation and the frame for your house. How you choose to finish and landscape your house will come later and reflect your specific choices and desires. Again, our goal here is for you to stake out your land, pour the cement, and create a sturdy platform from which to build.

MOST PEOPLE NEVER GET THIS FAR.  Let me repeat. MOST PEOPLE NEVER GET THIS FAR.

They think about it all the time, but never take the action. In this book, I am not going to poke and prod you to follow through on the ideas and strategies presented here. You are an adult, free to make your own choices. You are either at the point where you are sick and tired of worrying about money that you will take action or you are not there yet. This book can be just another in the “self-help” genre that you have wasted your money on, or it can be the spark that ignites a fire. I leave that decision up to you.

Okay, now that the expectations are clear, let’s move on, shall we?
